More Physiotherapy required after stroke – according to Andrew Marr (recently interviewed on the Jonathan Ross show)

26-Feb-2014

Andrew Marr appeared on the Jonathan Ross show last week and gave an honest account of his experiences as a stroke survivor following his stroke in January 2013. Andrew described that his family were told that he may not survive the stroke and if he did that he would be a vegetable for the rest of his life. Despite these early assessments he has gone on to make an excellent recovery through hard work and rehabilitation, including almost daily physiotherapy.

One of his very clear messages is that more physiotherapy should be made available for stroke survivors in order to help them to reach their full potential and level of independence. He explained that this would in turn help individuals to rebuild their lives and in some cases to get back to work.

Andrew Marr attributes his excellent physical recovery to working very hard in his physiotherapy sessions and having excellent help from his physiotherapists.
