Sally's story
I had a stroke at the age of 45 in December 2020 the stroke left me with left side hemiplegia. being discharged from hospital I started working with the Plymouth neurophysio team. Becky and Charlotte visited me at home to assess my situation after which the focus of our sessions was helping me to get back on my left leg and to improve my balance. My first impression of Becky and Charlotte was firstly, how knowledgeable they were about stroke and brain injury and secondly how positive they both were and how they gave me hope, not false hope but hope that a future post stroke was possible and I would get some mobility back. Two years post stroke I’m beginning to accept life will never be the same as-it was before but I am more hopeful and positive about what the future has in store- I can walk outside with a stick and have generally more confidence to give things a go, this is largely thanks to Charlotte and her enthusiastic ‘ can do ‘ attitude.

Richard's story
My name is Richard, 1'm 63 years old. I was admitted to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth on 4 December 2021 with my fourth ‘full blown’ FND attack. I started working with the “Plymouth Neurophysios” at the end of January 2022. I was immediately impressed/comforted not only that the Physios were knowledgeable about FND but that they had many years experience of working with clients with FND. This was important to me because I felt I needed this understanding of what the Physio was working with and my own frustrations about this condition.
